Stellar Ventures Merchant Banking, Ltd. (SVMB) is a privately-held investment firm focused on small, Connecticut-based businesses. We are not a fund and invest our own capital on a deal-by-deal basis, allowing us to be creative in structuring transactions. The firm is unique as it seeks to acquire controlling interests in smaller companies that do not necessarily have positive EBITDA.

Mission

Our mission is to provide business owners with a comprehensive and efficient exit through a direct purchase of their company. We are buy and hold investors who respect the legacies of our acquisitions and provide the growth capital and other resources to move those businesses forward. Unlike most funds chartered to provide a 3-5 year turnover of investment capital, we employ a buy and hold strategy that enables us to build long-term relationships and create additional value.

Management

All of the firm’s investment decisions reside with Gregory Guay, the founder and principal. Mr. Guay ran Stellar Ventures as a boutique investment banking firm since 1998 and converted the firm to full-time merchant banking in 2012. Since its inception, Stellar Ventures has organized over $40MM in small business financings, mostly leveraged buy-outs. Mr. Guay has an outstanding track record of reorganizing struggling companies and dramatically improving financial performance.

Value-Add

Our due-diligence process is efficient and discreet. Our expectation is to close a transaction in 90-120 days. Business owners will appreciate this approach and recognize the value in working with a professional, decisive financial buyer.
